中國古代，有一個有名的孝子，名叫李密，不但孝順撫養他長大成人的祖母，更是非常喜歡讀書。每天從早到晚總是認真看書，絕不浪費一分一秒的時間。
有一次，李密要去拜師讀書。但他擔心路上耽誤太多時間，因此，想了一個萬全之計。
李密做了一個鞍子放在牛背上，把要看的書掛在牛角上。這樣，他就可以安全舒適的一面趕路，一面讀書。不但不浪費看書時間，又可如期把事辦好。
正因他的努力不懈，日後成了有名的學者和官員。
In
ancient China, there was a dutiful boy named
Li Mi. He not only showed filial obedience to
his grandmother who brought him up, but he was
also diligent in studying. He spent every spare
moment reading books and never wasted any time.
One
day, Li Mi had to travel to another place to
deal with some affairs. While he was away he
intended to study with a famous tutor and learn
about life from him. He did not want to waste
time on the way. He made a comfortable saddle,
put it on the back of an ox, and took with him
all of the books he wanted to read, hanging
them on the horns of his ox. He read a book
as he traveled.
To
act in this manner, he was not only reading
but he was also managing to do everything at
once and on time.
Li
Mi found a tutor and, because of his diligence
in studying, he became a famous scholar and
an officer.
